OUR BACKGROUND
How We Got Here
Growing up, I was inspired by my father — a huge Elvis Presley fan, gifted singer, and uncanny Elvis impressionist. I’d watch him perform with pride, mimicking his every move and dreaming of one day stepping into the spotlight myself. That spark he lit in me never went out.
As a young girl, I’d always choose the most challenging songs at karaoke, determined to prove I could sing them just as powerfully as the greats. I never wanted to be “just good” — I wanted to be the best. I sang alongside my dad and by myself at charity gigs, in the UK and in Belgium and for causes close to my heart, including Lupus and Children in Need.
Through school, I threw myself into every musical I could. I was lucky enough to play Sandy in Grease at 14 and Scaramouche in We Will Rock You at 16. When the council tried to shut our We Will Rock You production down over copyright concerns, the story made the BBC news, and even caught the attention of Brian May. He appeared in the media backing our fight, and after I reached out to him personally, he replied with his support. That moment was unforgettable and gave me a real sense of what was possible when you fight for what you love.
I went on to study performing arts at university, but like many, life took a different turn. I lost confidence, chose stability, and took jobs that were reliable but never truly “me.”
Eventually, after having my first child at the age of 28, I felt the call back into performance and joined a band named "PRSNRS".
Things went well and I felt a little more alive (professionally) again, though the pull of motherhood was stronger and I could no longer meet the demand within the band.
Now, at 32, I’ve returned to the thing I’ve always known I was born to do: to sing, to create, to perform, and to bring joy to others through music. Bespoke Ballads UK is my passion in full colour, offering personalised songs, heartfelt performances, and unforgettable moments for weddings, events, and families.
